THE WOODEN BOAT ASSOCIATION of South Australia
The regular WBASA meeting venue has closed and the next meeting will be Monday 27 February at The Brecknock Hotel 401 King Willam St Adelaide from 8pm. The speaker will be Devon Amber antique engine enthusiast and wooden boat owner. As usual Come for Dinner at 6:30pm Contact can be made with the President, Alex 08 8352 8948, the Secretary, George on 08 8339 6268 Activities include on water events, some day trips from Goolwa or on the Port River for example and occasionally weekend events like our visit to Nelson on the Glenelg River some time ago or our visit to Cobdogla on the River Murray. Our magazine, Crows Nest, is published bi-monthly a week or so before the general meetings and currently has a circulation of around 90 (members other associations etc). Membership includes people with larger moored boats, both traditional and modern, being used/built/restored and many smaller boats. The focus of the more active members varies from time to time, for example, recently the putt-putt class has been well (but not exclusively) represented. Members live in many parts of SA.
