THE WOODEN BOAT
ASSOCIATION of NSW inc.
The Wooden Boat Association of New South Wales is part of the national
Australian community of wooden boat enthusiasts. Our purpose is to enjoy, share
and promote an appreciation of wooden boats of all shapes and sizes, old or new.
The current membership of the association stands at around 250, which increases
monthly.
Come For A Chat
The WBA of NSW meet at 7:30 pm, on the second Tuesday of every month, at the
Auditorium, Gladesville Bowling and Sports Club, Ryde Road and Halcyon Street,
Gladesville. Guest speakers give talks on different topics which range from
expert to just plain entertaining. Its also a good chance to share a beverage
and swap a few yarns with folk that will understand your growing or continuing
obsession with wooden boats.
Bring Your Boat
The WBA of NSW organizes a variety of activities for members throughout
the year, including regattas, picnics, sailing weekends and even boat building.
The association is a partner in the highly successful Sydney Wooden Boat
Festival.
Sit Down With A Good Newsletter
The WBA of NSW publishes a monthly news letter which among other things keeps
the members up to date on current business for the association. There's always a
story or two from near or far away which may even relate to boats of the wooden
variety. Most importantly for the aspiring wooden boat owner there is always a
bargain to be had in the classifieds section.
Dream Happy Thoughts
The WBA of NSW is for lovers of wooden boats and that includes folk who are not
fortunate enough to live with the sometimes agreeable affliction of owning a
wooden craft. Don't despair you may one day be afflicted, but until such time it
is enough that you dream the same dreams.
