Description:

Ahoy There WBAQers, FLINDERS WEEKEND PRINT THIS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE
Friday 13 July
Members of WBAQ are welcome to set up camp on the Club grounds of Tingira Boat Club on Friday 13 July.
There will be a Tingira members dinner commencing at 6:00pm to which your members are welcome to attend. The meal offered at Tingira is a home-cooked style meal at a cost of $14.00. Alternatively it is a short stroll to the Bowls Club where meals are also available.  The Tingira bar will be open for refreshments from 6:00pm up until 10:00pm close.
Saturday 14 July
Some Tingira sailing dinghies and motor boats may like to accompany WBAQ members on the Saturday picnic sail to e.g. Blakesley’s Anchorage / Garden Island cutting / Karragarra Beach and Picnic area.
There is a strong possibility of our safety boat (RIB) accompanying the fleet.
The gas BBQ / Shelter at the Club could be used for members to cook their dinner on Saturday night or take a stroll over to the Bowls Club. If required our bar could be opened on Saturday night from 5:00pm until 10:00pm.
Sunday 15 July
Some Tingira sailing dinghies and motor boats may like to accompany WBAQ members on the trip to Coochiemudlo for the Flinders re-enactment ceremony so as to create a greater spectacle with a larger boating presence. Again there is a strong possibility of our safety boat (RIB) accompanying the fleet.
On Sunday Tingira hosts Sunday On the Deck lunches and is open to the public but this will mostly be happening whilst the fleet is away for the Flinders re-enactment. The BBQ/Shelter at the Club could be utilised by members to cook their dinner that night.
Facilities:
The club will have some refrigerator space for a small number of campers to store food over the weekend.
The Club has a sheltered gas BBQ area for cooking and a kitchen that could be used to prepare breakfasts but would need to be left tidy at all times. The Club has a bus that could be used for Club / Ferry transfers with prior arrangement.
The Club has male and female toilets but not indoor showers. An outdoor shower (sorry cold water only) is available.
(Possible that Macleay Island based WBAC members could invite visitors home for a warm shower.)
