Wooden Boat Association

The Wooden Boat Association comprises groups from throughout Australia, open to all owners, builders, restorers and lovers of boats made of wood (not surprisingly).  Old, new, carvel, clinker, ply, composite.  We don't care.  As long as it's got wood.  Lots of wood.  The more wood the better really.

The main aims of the WBA are:

• To foster and promote an active interest in all matters relating to the history, development, building, restoration and preservation of wooden boats; and
• To encourage and promote contact with interstate and overseas organizations with similar interests.

Most of the regional Wooden Boat Associations have monthly meetings, complete with a general show and tell and a guest speaker  to talk on topics from naval architecture to forestry, from marine electrics to wire rope splicing.

• The Wooden Boat Association of Queensland
• The Traditional Boat Squadron of Australia ACT
• The Wooden Boat Association of North Queensland - Townsville
• The Wooden Boat Association of North Queensland - Cairns
• The Wooden Boat Guild of Tasmania
• The Wooden Boat Association of South Australia
• The Amateur Boat Builders Association (Western Australia)
